Intelligent Surveillance

Customer behavior analysis

In today’s competitive retail environment, success is dependent on a thorough understanding of existing and potential customers. Constantly changing customer preferences, eroding customer loyalty and the inherent complexity of large retail organizations demand increased analysis of the customer behavior such as

  • visitor traffic to store
  • where do shoppers go in the store
  • what do they look at
  • how many are queuing at the checkout
  • and more.

TrueView™

The TrueView™ product suite from Cognimatics is the leading camera based product suite for customer behavior analysis. Using standard network cameras loaded with Cognimatics leading technology for intelligent video it provides the retail industry with powerful tools for automatic customer behavior analysis.

Solutions

The TrueView™ product suite offers a flexible and scalable solution that can be configured to meet a variety of requirements. Data can be obtained in open formats that can be integrated into your systems with a minimum of work.

Basic people counting system

TrueView People Counter™ can be used in systems of any size ranging from a single store with one entrance to global retail chains with thousands of outlets.

A single store

For a single store place cameras loaded with TrueView People Counter™ at all the entrances and exits and connect them to your Ethernet. You can assign any one of the counter units to be master collecting counting data from all the others. Then simply point your web browser to the master unit and get statistics from all the counting units from a single source. The setup does not require any additional hardware or software.

Secure data

Data is stored on each counting unit up to one month. If you want to secure data older than that it has to be downloaded from each camera. This can be done by yourself and data can be obtained in a variety of open formats. It is also possible to use the optional software packet TrueView Web Report™ that does this automatically for you and from any number of counting units. Then data is stored in an open format on a central database that you have full control over and you can access and manage historical data conveniently from a single source.

Retail chain

For a chain of stores, configure the cameras in each store as in the single store case. Then in order to secure data download data regularly from all the counting units. If you use TrueView Web Report™ then this will be done automatically for you. Beside just storing the data the software also gives you a whole range of tools for managing and analyzing data.

Hot and cold zones in the store

With TrueView Cone Counter™ and TrueView Heatmap™ you can get information about where people go in your store.

Getting hard data

When you want to count how many people are occupying a well defined and smaller area then TrueView Zone Counter™ is the perfect tool. Put the camera loaded with TrueView Zone Counter™ and facing straight down directly above the area of interest and connect it to Ethernet. Then simply point your web browser to the camera's URL and get statistics on the number of people standing in the area visible by the camera. Data is stored on the camera for up to one month and can be download in a variety of open formats. The setup does not require any additional hardware or software. TrueView Zone Counter™ also works with TrueView Web Report™.

Visual tool

When you want to follow trends and gain insight into how people are using your store, but you do not necessarily need data about the exact number of people, then TrueView Heatmap™ is the perfect tool. Put the camera loaded with TrueView Heatmap™ in a position overlooking an area of interest. This area could in some cases be the entire store and the camera does not have to mounted in the ceiling. Then simply point your web browser to the camera's URL and get a visualization of where there has been movement over time. The setup does not require any additional hardware or software.
